PhD students will follow the four-year version of the CRUK CoL PhD training programme. Although based in their primary supervisor’s research group, students will have the opportunity to work across the centre, for example when carrying out their research placements or accessing the Centre’s infrastructure cores.
The Cambridge Cancer Centre offers an Integrated Academic Training Programme, as defined by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR). This means that training is tailored to equip translational scientists with the skills and experience they need to progress in their combined research and clinical careers. Funded PhD programmes There are a number of specialised PhD training programmes available within the Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health. Some of these programmes offer interdisciplinary or structured training during the first year or placements outside of the lab.
